Mary Reynolds-Gilmore, M.S., CCC-SLP/L
Our founder and lead clinician, Mary Reynolds-Gilmore, has over 20 years experience as a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist. After completing her undergraduate degree at Molloy University and master's degree at Syracuse University, Mary worked as a speech-language pathologist for United Cerebral Palsy of New York City, where she was also their feeding expert, at Winthrop-University Hospital/NYU Langone, and at North Shore Speech and Language Associates, as a Clinical Supervisor at the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences Department graduate program clinic at Hofstra University, and as an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Molloy University.
Mary's philosophy is that natural environments produce the best context for learning, so we provide services in your home and community settings, and engage parents and caregivers as partners in pursuing the most effective therapy for our clients.
At Speech by the Sound, we believe that education is a lifelong pursuit. Mary has been awarded four Awards for Continuing Education as she has honed her expertise in early childhood development, motor speech disorders, feeding, and fluency. You can be assured that you are receiving the most up-to-date and scientifically-supported therapy from our practice.
When Mary is not providing services, she enjoys knitting and spending time with her husband, three children, black cat and Golden Retriever.
